Affimed (Nasdaq: AFMD) engineers targeted immunotherapies, seeking to cure patients by harnessing the power of innate and adaptive immunity (NK- and T-cells). We are developing single and combination therapies to treat cancers and other life-threatening diseases. To strengthen our highly motivated team, we are looking for a Program Manager (m/f).

The successful candidate will be an integral member of an international program team tasked with developing new antibody drug candidates.


  • Support the Program Head in planning, implementation and tracking of the development program
  • Project management of an internal drug development program in collaboration with an international partner
  • Drive planning excellence, monitoring and execution of plans in alignment with program strategy and goals
  • Organize and attend team meetings as part of an international program team, including
    • Schedule and prepare meetings, develop agendas and record minutes of meetings
    • Ensure execution excellence through tracking of team objectives and action items
  • Organize internal and external program-related research and development activities, including
    • Develop internal program plans and monitor progress
    • Establish and maintain processes to ensure appropriate internal and external reporting of research data
    • Develop and maintain tools to ensure efficient and organized execution of program-related research activities in close collaboration with functions
    • Work closely with functional leads, program teams and scientific staff to proactively plan, monitor and resolve potential resource conflicts
  • Support program team in preparation of program recommendations and presentation to management
  • Support program team in planning of program budgets and resources and serve as interface with finance/controlling
  • Track program budget in close liaison with Program Head; provide budget updates, as required
  • Work with Head of Project Management to develop, implement and maintain harmonized processes and tools


Professional qualifications, expertise and skills

  • Degree (MSc, PhD preferred) in Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Pharmacy)
  • Prior experience in biological drug research and development (1 – 3 years)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management with appropriate training in required tools (incl. MS Project) and processes
  • Full professional proficiency in German and English
