  • Develop and evolve company messaging with input from key stakeholders across the organization
  • Ensure senior leaders and other key stakeholders are aligned and adequately trained to deliver consistent and compelling messages
  • Lead development and refresh of materials to support external communications including press releases, media briefs, corporate and product backgrounders, and message playbook
  • Lead development and implementation of corporate media strategy across all channels including earned, paid and social
  • Build and foster relationships with media outlets and key journalists and serve as primary media contact
  • Collaborate with program heads and other stakeholders to ensure awareness and preparedness of upcoming milestones
  • Collaborate closely with Investor Relations on messages and materials around earnings and other IR events
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop internal communications that promote the Affimed culture and foster a positive working environment
  • Develop and enhance social media strategy and content


  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years experience in product and/or corporate communications and marketing
  • Experience in the Pharma/Biotech industry, experience in oncology preferred
  • Experience in a NASDAQ listed company
  • Experience in working with external stakeholders (e.g., media outlets/journalists, KOL spokespersons, academic collaborators, professional and patient societies)
  • Excellent communication skills covering a broad range of audiences
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to think strategically and follow through with execution
  • Self-motivated, pro-active and a team playing personality
  • Profound communication skills in English, both written and verbal
