TandAb® Technology Collaborations
Affimed´s TandAbs® cover a broad range of application possibilities, providing access to therapeutically important and commercially promising, but challenging, indications in the fields of oncology and inflammation. TandAbs® can act as recruiting machinery (RECRUIT-TandAb®) for immune effector cells, e.g., T-cells or NK-cells, or as BiBLOCK-TandAb® via the dual inhibition of two targets.
Affimed is currently evaluating partnerships for the construction and development of RECRUIT-TandAbs® or BiBLOCK-TandAbs® either derived from existing antibodies or by de novo generation of fully human antibody fragments against targets provided by the partner.
Construction of TandAbs®
One possibility for a technology-based collaboration is the construction of RECTRUIT-TandAbs® or of BiBLOCK-TandAbs® derived from targets given by the partner. The development and construction of TandAbs® derived from existing IgGs takes around three to six months. Because we have developed TandAbs® based on more than twenty targets, we have excellent in-house expertise for designing and constructing these molecules. If no antibody molecules that can be used against the partner’s targets are available, an additional de novo screening step can be initiated so that a custom-tailored TandAb® construct may become available for the partner after about twelve months.
